OPT-IN LIST |

If you are going to have a successful business on the Internet ,you will need a solid list of customers to sell your producrs. Today, we call that an Opt-in list, meaning that those on that list have agreed to be there. The list size varies according to the kind of products you offer and the natureof the combination. Some businesses do very well with just a thousand or two, others need tens of thousands. Acquiring the list is probably the biggest problem you’ll ever have.At this point, I’m suggesting you download the 27-page report called “Opt-In List Building” in pdf format, because it thoroughly covers the subject from a “traditional” viewpoint. After you read it, read my personal notes on the subject. Download the report right now, using the right click on your mouse - by "right clicking" here Newbies and conservative users wanting to make money on the Internet face a problem that seems impossible to solve. Because of the SPAM problem they are told (as in the report) that they cannot send emails to anyone who has not agreed to accept their mail or website. Mind you that the ones making the bucks have huge customer maillists obtained before the SPAM rules were set, and most don’t follow them now. Every day or so I get an email from somebody I never heard of and they are trying to sell me something. Most of the time, if I respond, I find out later that they are using a friend's list to get to me.They are not asking for permission `from me to send emails to me. So, why don’t newbies and conservatives follow suit? SPAM warnings are so scary —- they imply your ISP, host service or special program you're using will not only drop you, but blacklist you, too! Fortunately, some advertising companies (along with these successful folks) are beginning to offer ways for us to use their list to send our sales emails, and not worry about the SPAM rules. Prices vary, but the procedure is fast, and using capture methods, your list will grow quickly. I think this is the best way to fast-develop an Opt-in list by capturing those who respond with a sign-up before they get to see what you have. You’re working with a list of actual buyers or “wannabe” buyers. Between using this method and submitting your website URL to all search engines, I believe you can very quickly establish a solid start for your business. Direct advertising through ad companies is also good, because they know their ad-list will maximize the potential of your ad. They, of course, aren’t concerned with SPAM, as they clear their lists continuously. Surprisingly, some are very reasonably priced. There are several programs for list-building on the web, but I haven’t found any that I can recommend. Most of these are a form of a “Safelist.” A safelist is a list of opportunity seekers who agree to read each-other’s sales pitches. Frankly, I have more important things to do than sit at my computer reading sales pitches of competitors. At the same time, I recognize that if you have something they need, they’ll buy it from you in a minute. Now some safelists offer the possibility of sending e-mail sales messages directly to their list. That could be very worthwhile. In my readings on the web, I also found at least one person saying that if you are sending out only 100 or so sales messages per month to an opt-in list you bought, you probably won’t get into trouble. Just search-engine search for “opt-in lists” and you‘ll. find that you can buy lists of people who have agreed somewhere and sometime to accept sales messages related to business opportunities or products. The lists sell from extremely cheap to very expensive. Expensive ones have double-checked names and email addresses, cheap ones may not have. If you start with a decent list and only run 11-20 at a time, and announce that they are receiving your message because they did register to do so, AND they can get off your list by just sending a reply with “unsubscribe” in the subject title, you probably won’t get any rejections. If you offer them something free, be sure they have to send an email to you to get it. When they do, make them confirm by signing at least their first name and e-mail address.
Happy list building!
